On Being a Pagan udkom oprindeligt i 1981 med den franske titel "Comment peut-on être païn?".
Bogen er skrevet af Alain de Benoist, som bl.a. er grundlægger af GRECE. On Being a Pagan blev oversat til engelsk af Jon Graham i 2004 og udkom samme år i en engelsk udgave på forlaget Ultra.
I bogen præsenterer de Benoist en dybdegående analyse af kristen- og jødedommen og stiller disse i relation til den europæiske hedenskab. I den forbindelse er det hans pointe, at opløsningen og nedbrydelsen af europæisk kultur er forårssaget af Europas omvendelse til kristendommen. Ifølge de Benoist kan en meningsfuld politisk og kulturel genrejsning af Europa kun realiseres ved en tilbagevenden til Europas oprindelige hedenske rødder.
